Music Monday: Lauryn Hill and Peace of Mind

I was not quite sure what I wanted to for Music Monday this week, but I think this is a good one.

In 2002, I didn't care much for religion, and definitely not much for Jesus. My sister had started going to church, and was starting to pester me about it, but I fended her off pretty effectively those days.

What I did care for was music, specifically R&B music. So when Lauryn Hill's Unplugged 2.0 album came out, I didn't have to read the reviews, I didn't have to listen to it on Napster first (just kidding...I never used Napster), I just bought it.

I fell in love with the album, despite its overt religiosity--there was just something about it. Looking back, the album was one of the ways God started to open my heart. This song, the rawness of the emotion, the vulnerability of it, more than any other.

This album has meant so much to me that I've given it to friends as a gift in the past.

I would like to give it to you as a gift too!

Tweet me @MichaelRWear and let me know that you'd like to receive this album. I will pick one winner out of those who tweet me by 1/28 at 10 PM EST.

What did you think of the song? If you have the album, what do you think of it? Leave your comments below.
